• I forgot my PIN code. Can you re-set it for me?

  

  Unfortunately, we are unable to re-set your PIN. The security features of the Karma Browser prevent us from doing so.

  However, you can re-set your PIN yourself by first restoring your browser to factory settings using one of the three methods below. Following that you will be able to sign in again using your email address and set a new PIN code.

  • 1. If you enter the wrong PIN 10 times, the Karma browser will automatically restore the factory settings.
  • 2. You can also re-set the browser by going to Settings | Apps | _Select your browser app_ | Storage | Manage storage | Clear all data.
  • 3. Another method of re-setting the browser is by uninstalling it and then installing it again from Play Store.

  Important: by re-setting the browser to factory settings you will lose all your browser data unless you previously configured Backup & Sync functionality within the app.

• I forgot my PIN code. How can I recover my data?

  

  If you have previously set up your browser to back up and sync with your Google or Dropbox account, you will be able to restore data from a backup. All you need to do is restore the browser to factory settings and set a new PIN by logging in again using your email address. You can re-set your browser using one of the following methods:

  • 1. If you enter the wrong PIN 10 times, the Karma browser will automatically restore the factory settings.
  • 2. You can also re-set the browser by going to Settings | Apps | _Select your browser app_ | Storage | Manage storage | Clear all data.
  • 3. Another method of re-setting the browser is by uninstalling it and then installing it again from Play Store.

  Important: by re-setting the browser to factory settings you will lose all your browser data unless you previously configured Backup & Sync functionality within the app.

• I lost my device / I have a new device / I re-installed my Karma browser. How do I recover my data?

  

  While you still have access to you old device, use Karma Browser's Backup & Sync functionality to back up you data on your Google or Dropbox account first.

  You will be able to restore your data later on any device by signing in to your account with your email address.

• I forgot my PIN and did not back up to Dropbox or Google Drive. How can I recover my data?

  

  If you have forgotten your PIN or do not have access to your device and have not set up a backup to Google Drive or Dropbox, data recovery is not possible.

  Karma Browser uses a patented security solution to ensure that only the user has access to sensitive data.

  An important part of this solution is to ensure that no one on Karma Browser is able to access or recover your data, even if you lose your PIN.

  We never store backups: the user stores them in their own Google or Dropbox account.

  Backups are securely encrypted using your device and PIN.

• If I send you my backup file, can you recover my data for me?

  

  Unfortunately, we do not have the technical ability to recover your backup. This is a feature of our patented security solution, which ensures that only you have access to your sensitive data.

  However, you can recover the backup yourself by logging into your account using a browser on any compatible device.

• Why would I want to create an account?

  

  By creating an account you will gain access to secure storage, backup and synchronization of your sensitive browser data using our patented security solution that keeps your data accessible exclusively by you.

• What does it mean that the browser is secure and private?

  

  The security and privacy of the Karma Browser is based on the following features:

  • - Limits usage data collected by third parties to the minimum necessary for websites to function.
  • - Encrypts sensitive browser data using patented security technology.
  • - Gives you the ability to securely and privately back up and sync sensitive data between devices using your own Google or Dropbox accounts. We never store your data and have no access to it.
  • - Backup data is securely encrypted using the same cutting-edge technology that keeps local data safe.
  • - It uses a zero-knowledge protocol, which means we know nothing about your data or your credentials. But remember: this also means that if you lose your credentials, we will not be able to help you.

• How do I turn on dark mode?

  

  The Karma Browser follows the colour theme settings of the operating system. To change Android to dark mode, open System Settings and select Display | Dark.
